Lane Service Bio
After graduating from high school, Jimmy Lane began his career in the air conditioning & heating business in December of 1964, working for the General Electric distributor in Waco, Texas. He began working in the field on an installation crew; then moved into the service end of the business for about 3-4 years. He then was promoted within that company into the sales and engineering department, during which time he was involved in the design and engineering of residential and commercial A/C and heating systems as well as the sales end of the business, working with general contractors, architects, and owners.
In 1970 Jimmy left that company, and in partnership with his brother-in law, together they began operating their own A/C and heating business; servicing, designing, and installing complete A/C and heating systems. In 1975 Jimmy began his own company, and has owned and operated Lane Service for the past 44 years. Jimmy’s 2 sons, Steve & Jeff, both joined the business after finishing school. Two of his grandsons, Colton & Chad, have also joined the business, making Lane Service a family owned and operated company from its very beginning until now.
Jimmy and his wife Doris have lived in Bruceville for the past 40+ years. They have 2 married sons, Steve and Jeff, and one married daughter , Cheryl. They have 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Steve and his family also live in the Bruceville-Eddy area, and Jeff and his family live in Valley Mills. Chad and his wife live in Bruceville. Colton will be getting married in July. The entire family are all members of the Church of Christ in Lorena, Texas.
